Great Price DIRECTV HR24 for $156.95

Great product but DirectTV doesn't have the knowledge base to support it. Got the receiver timely and set everything up by going through the manual and system set up. Didn't get reception of the majority of the HD channels. Direct TV was no help and finally agreed to send a tech. He determined after repeating everything I had done that this unit needed a B-Band connector. That fixed the problem but unnecessarily delayed enjoyment of the unit for more than a week. Information about the connector should have been provided.

BEWARE OF DTV Shell Game. When you purchase a DTV box from anywhere the box is the property of DTV. Along with this your contract will be extened for 1 to 2 years. Once again if you buy a DTV box from best buy, online retailer, amazon, your parents or your next door neighbor it is the property of DTV and must be returned to them when you cancel your service or you must pay a fee to DTV. Just like other reviews say, this is a LEASE only, meaning Directv will still own this and you will have to pay a monthly rental fee for it ( I think). The receiver is obviously the nicest HD DVR out on Directv, as is every new one they come out with is a bit better than the last. A lot faster I have to say...really like it.
