Samsung HLT5076S 50-Inch UltraSlim 1080p DLP HDTV Review
I bought this TV from Best Buy in May 08, and after nearly 2 years of use i could not be happier with this thing. it looks virtually as good as it did the first day i brought it home.
i bought it knowing that i'd eventually have to replace the lamp, (which i'm okay with) and honestly i though i would have been forced to do that by now, but i'm glad to say that so far i have not.
i use this tv the way a lot people purchasing it will, video games and movies. i have a ps3, 360, and a wii all connected to it and they all look great. (well.. the wii looks descent, not great. but that's not the TV's fault) bluray movies and 1080p games all look incredible. there are multiple hdmi and component inputs, so you'll have no problem connecting all of your HD devices.
the sound is okay on this TV, but i have a sound system connected to mine.. i prefer a thundering bass. :]
overall, i think this is a worthy purchase. you'll spend a lot more money buying a comparable LCD or LED TV.

My Last Samsung Product - Gophergutz -
First off, I have been a user of Samsung products for a little while now. I've had two Samsung wireless phones and I purchased my wife a Samsung digital camera. I purchased this television in the fall of 2007. The product worked as expected for almost 3 years. However, in the last month and a half, I have noticed small white dots on the screen. First it was one, now I have about half a dozen and I add a new one every other day or so. I did some research and found that others have had this same issue with this and other Samsung DLP televisions. Apparently the issue is caused by the failure of the mirror board or mirror chip (I've heard it called both). I contacted Samsung and was told that this is not a problem that they are covering for this model (they have recalled other mirror boards for other DLP televisions apparently) and that I would need to purchase a new mirror board. Prices I've seen are upwards of 0. I purchased a 2 year warranty that, of course, expired 6 months before the first white dot showed up. So, as of now, I have a 00 television that is less than 3 years old and, at the rate it is going, is literally a few weeks away from becoming unwatchable. Numerous internet-forum posts would indicate that Samsung has dealt with the same issues on other models of their televisions, yet they are acting as if they have never heard of the white dot problem. Don't get me wrong, I understand that some parts of the television are going to need to be replaced as "normal wear and tear" occurs. For example, anyone that owns a projection TV knows that the bulb will eventually need to be replaced. I do not, however, believe that a central component such as this mirror board should fail after less than 3 years of normal use. Believe me, I did my homework before purchasing this television and, had I seen that I would need to spend 0 or more within 3 years, I can assure you I would have looked elsewhere. More than the diminished viewing enjoyment, my main disappointment is with the response from Samsung itself. Of the two departments I talked with, there was zero desire to work with me to resolve the issue. My options were either: pay full price for parts and labor or enjoy my ever growing collection of white dots. So, bottom line, if you want a television that will likely fail within 3 years of your purchase, this is the brand and TV for you. If you want one that might work for a little while, I'd look at another brand. I know I'll never buy Samsung again.

A nightmare!
They will not fix or repair the tv even though they know they installed defective chips.
Thousands of complaints and another class action suit lawsuit brewing in NJ. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. These things are failing after two years of use.

PLEASE DO A WEB SEARCH FOR (SAMSUNG WHITE DOT PROBLEM) MAJOR ISSUE HERE!!!!! IT USUALLY DOES NOT HAPPEN TILL ABOUT 1.5 - 2.5 YEARS BUT IT DOES HAPPEN ALOOOOOOOOOT! SOMETIMES THEY ARE COVERING IT AND SOMETIMES THEY ARE NOT.
DON'T BE THE ONE THEY ARE NOT COVERING. JUST DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON THIS ONE.
I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT AMAZON SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AS WELL, BUT THEY ARE STILL SELLING IT. I DON'T HAVE ANY INFO ABOUT HOW AMAZON IS DEALING WITH THIS BUT THEY SHOULD BE LETTING THEIR CUSTOMERS KNOW.
